The life of Dusty Davies
Sunday, 11 November 2012
The cold wind blew in her face. Dusk had just started to fall, hours had gone and the wind turned to snow which made it impossible for her to try an sleep. Her phone beeped, looking at the screen was like looking directly at the sun. It was a text message, it read "you thought you could hide, but games are over. Found you. Coming ready or not". SHe layed there for a while wondering what to do then a noise came from the bushes. She sits up right and her eyes dart around for an escape route. She was positive it was him. Her dads voice kept circiling round and round in her head till she finally snapped out of his trance. The noise became louder, she wanted to run but her body froze once again. She felt her skin get tighter and her ears prick up as her dad got closer. She saw a flash of red and two glittering spots in the gap where she had been stairing for hours. Dusty's heart jumped as a fox scarmbled from the other side of the small enclosur of bushes. She sighed with relief and managed to slip away into a manner of calm sleep. She woke up to a cold breeze on her face, the other nights events still embroided in her head. She sat up, her dad is still out there. Why would he wait this long? Why couldn't he just kill her now? Her mind keeps jumping back to them dreadful days. It was all so vivid, the smell of his alchoholic breath, the taste of blood, the sound of his voice. Just when she thinks she was getting strong, her mind keeps jumping back to them days. The vunrability makes her shudder and she came back from his trance.
Monday morning and her head lies on her desk, the room is silence. Romours spread like wildfire and were true. She felt the eyes of people peering at her and whispering. "dusty! I didn't see you on Friday! Where were you?!" Dusty turned her head and said "I was in, I wanted a quiet night in" Sophie's face looked baffled. Sophie was one of her bestfriends, how could she not tell her the truth? She sank back into her seat. " I didn't hear from you all weekend? You okay... I mean at home?"
"Everything is FINE at home!!! What are you saying?! Even if things were bad then why would I tell you?! It's none of your business!" Dusty grabbed her bag and blazer and stormed out of her form room. She ran down the stairs and to the link way and stopped. This is exactly what he wanted. She saw a woman, a friend, her savior and her heart dropped. She has a weakness that this special lady had over Dusty. Mrs Williams looked up and straight a Dusty's terrified face. She turned left and ran straight out, ignoring all of the people beside her. Se got to the gates of her school and stopped outside. Her legs went weak and she started sobbing. Lying there in the snow had opened her mind and changed her. She stood up and walked back into school. She is no longer this goody girl who no one knows about. She must cause trouble. Dusty walked into school with her head held high for the first time in a long time. Skirt rolled up, make up on and ready to be known. " Dusty! It's nice of you to join us" she walked into maths with and slamed her bag down on the table.

The late bell goes, the sound of laughter and excited children fill the
corridors. Dusty sits there with her head in her hands wondering want to
do with herself. She can feel people staring at her, it felt awkward
but she like the attention. It was one thing she craved, she was always
the one that had to have someones attention but today she didn't like it
so much. Then she felt a cold presence behind her, she turned around as
a large hand touched her shoulder. "Dusty, come with me" the sound of
shock waved through her form room. Mr Stanley was a tall, 50 year old
man with a miserable looking face. She got to the door of his office and
stopped, her feet froze. " Go in, I don't bite" he said pointing to the
door. She would have normally laughed but in the circumstance she
didn't find it very funny. 'What happened last night?' the terrifying
thought kept washing around in her head. Mr Stanley asked the same
question, " Dusty? Are you okay?" she looked up and saw the concern on
his face. She shrugged. The words were right on the tip of her tongue.
If only she could tell, but that's the thing she got in trouble in the
first place. " if something was wrong, you would tell some one ,
wouldn't you?" Mr Stanley leaned forward, she looked to the door and
shrugged. Chants were heard on the bus " Its Friday! Friday! Gotta get
down on Friday!!!" Dusty rolled her eyes and pulled her hood up to cover
the bruised emotions coming from her face. She finally got home. it was
a cold Friday night and unlike most 15 year old girls, she was sitting
indoors. She got to the front door and her heart dropped , the bolt on
the door has been broken. The door was wide open and windows were
smashed. Dusty dropped her bag and coat at the front door and ran up
stairs. Duvets ripped and a message was written on her wall in red "This
is not over dusty!". She fell to the floor. were could she go? Once
again, crouched on the floor, bruised and terrified. She stood up, wiped
the tears off her face and got her purple rucksack and filled it with
clothes. She couldn't stay there anymore, just like her mother, she
would have to leave- for good.

The life of Dusty Davies starts simple. Happy family but then things begin to detereate and fall apart. she now lives her life in fear.
She never thought that the noise of foot steps would be so terrifying, she gripped her purple rucksack and started running. She stopped and turned, he was here. Her eyes darted across the moonlit street, "you couldn't just keep it shut-could you?" she squinted her eyes trying to focus on the hooded figure in the shadows. "I...I... Didn't mean to, they asked me the question . You know I am not good at lying". How did he know where she was? She backed up against the garden wall as the figure was getting closer. she felt his breath on her face and he could sense she was scared. " what's the matter? Scared I am going to HURT you?" she flinched as he put his hand in the air, still gripping her rucksack with both of her sweating palms. She looked to the left as a car approached the side of the road . If only she could just scream help. She knew in a matter of hours she would be 6 foot under in Epping Forrest but any chance she got, she took. She looked back at the figure and noticed his eyes were glued to the car coming , this was it . Her chance. She dashed for her front door, she knew she would be safer in there. She had got to the front door, and unlocked it but right when she thought it was all over a foot caught the closing door and a hand grabbed Dusty's hair. This was not change for her, she had got in fights with her dad before. She screams as he smashed his way Into the house. " I gave you everything. I gave you a home, food, a life" dusty backs up to wall wondering how long she has left. His arm extends high in the air and the sheer sight of it brings memories for dusty. Blow after blow, she lies there. He stops and stares at his once beautiful little girl, the girl he used to play scrabble with and have mini dances with in her underwear. Where have them times gone? Tears pouring off her face, once again. She thought this would be over now, she thought that her dad would stop. Clearly not. His right hand raised one last time and gives her a fatal blow to the head. That's it, she's out like a light. Will anyone believe her?
i will try and post a paragraph of Dusty Davies life every Friday x
